Paddington lies just 3km (ten minute drive from Brisbane's CBD) from the Brisbane's city centre. If you're interested in shopping, go to Latrobe and Given Terraces where you'll have the opportunity to explore clothing and accessory boutiques, cottage crafts, art galleries, Australiana specialists, cafes and restaurants, all in beautifully restored colonial buildings.

Indooroopilly Shopping Centre

Indooroopilly shopping mall is open 7 days a week, IndooroopillyShopping Centre is located 6km (10 minute drive) west of Brisbane CBD. Indoorooopilly Shopping Centre has over 250 speciality retailers over three levels. Major retailers at the centre are Woolworths, Myer, best and Less, Kmart, Target, Birch Carroll Coyle 16 cinema complex, Harvey Norman, and Fitness First. If you can't get there by private transport, there's a train station at Indooroopilly as well as a major bus terminal and interchange. If you're driving, there's plenty of parking available, mostly undercover.

Chermside Shopping Centre (Westfield shopping mall)

Westfield Chermside is HUGE! All the well-known names in fashion are found here under one roof. With over 400 outlets, set aside a whole day and where comfortable shoes! Chermside Shopping Centre is open 7 days a week and includes numerous speciality clothing, retail and food outlets as well as the major stores of Myer, Kmart, target, Coles, Bi-Lo and Woolworths. Westfield Chermside Shopping Centre 15 minutes north of Brisbane's CBD on the corner of Gympie and Hamilton Roads with access from Brisbane's CBD.

Carindale Shopping Centre

Carindale shopping mall is located about 15 minutes south of Brisbane's CBD via the Gateway Arterial. It is open 7 days a week and include over 350 stores under the one roof and includes Birch carroll Coyle, David Jones, Harvey Norman, Myer, Target, Best & Less, Big W, Aldi, Action Supermarket and Woolworths. Westfield Carindale Shopping Centre has more than 5,400 FREE car parking spaces, the majority undercover.

Garden City Shopping Centre (Westfield shopping mall)

Westfield Garden City includes just over 350 stores including the major retailers Big W, David Jones, Harvey Norman, Kmart, Officeworks, and ToysRus with FREE parking all day. Garden City Shopping Centre can be found at Upper Mount Gravatt, adjacent to the South East Freeway, approximately 15 minutes south of Brisbane's CBD.

Toowong Village Shopping Centre.

Toowong Shopping Village is located in the heart of Toowong, Toowong Village Shopping Centre is a short ten minute drive west of Brisbane's CBD. Whilst it may not be the size of some of the other Brisbane all-in-one shopping centres with 85 speciality stores, there's plenty to choose from including David Jones, Kmart, Coles, BWS liquor store, Retravision, Pillow talk and various fashion boutiques, gift shops and jewellery store. Brookside Shopping Centre

Brookside ssopping mall is situated less than fifteen minutes North-West of the Brisbane CBD. Brookside is has more than 120 stores, located on one level and includes the major retailers, Myer, Target, Woolworths and Supa IGA. Specialty stores include fashion, food, footwear, accessories, and homewares stores. At Brookside Shopping Centre you'll find plenty of undercover parking as well as a bus interchange and the nearby Mitchelton Railway station.

Centro Toombul Shopping Centre

Centro Toombul is open 7 days with David Jones, Kmart, Coles, Aldi, Bilo, Birch Carroll & Coyle 8 Cinemas, Best & Less, Dick Smith, Mitre 10, Priceline and over 180 specialty stores. To get to Centro Toombul it's a 15 minute drive north of Brisbane's CBD, just off Sandgate Road on the corner of the East West Arterial Road directly opposite Toombul Train and Bus station.

Bris Vegas

According to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, there are several explanations for how the city of Brisbane, Queensland got the name Bris Vegas (or Brisvegas). In general, it is a tongue-in-cheek nickname given to Brisbane based on an ironic comparison to the gambling capital of Las Vegas in the USA. The Bris Vegas nickname is usually a term used by out-of-town visitors on Brisbane's (perceived) small-town tackiness.
