Property Prices in Brisbane 2007
REIQ (Real Estate Institute of QLD) have recently released figures that show Brisbane's median house prices have increased by 9.5 per cent between the March and June quarters 2007 to $405,000.

This is the largest quarterly increase for four years. As a guide, this can be compared to median prices for Melbourne at $420,000, Sydney at $525,000 and Perth at $446,500. The median house price in Brisbane's inner-city suburb of Newstead increased by more than 50% to $1.137 million, making it now the most expensive suburb in Brisbane, bypassing Hamilton, traditionally Brisbane's priciest property area with a median house price of $1.056. Neighbouring suburb Ascot runs a close third with a median house price of $948,750.

Of Brisbane's 151 suburbs, only 5 now have median prices of below $300,000 - Darra, Durack, Zillmere, Archerfield, and Bald Hills.

Further afield, the shires of Logan, Beaudesert, Pine Rivers and Ipswich all have median house prices of under $350,000, making them popular with first home buyers. In Logan the median house price is $282,000; $345,000 in Beaudesert; $336,000 in Pine Rivers; and $255,000 in Ipswich. In Redland, the median house price increased to $380,000 and to $315,000 in Redcliffe.

Our Vision...

Australian Paralysis Tick
The Australian paralysis tick (Ixodes holocyus) is roughly confined to a 20-kilometre band that follows the eastern coastline of Australia. As this is where much of the human population resides, encounters with these parasites are relatively common. Although most cases of tick bite are uneventful, some can result in muscle weakness, blurred vision, drowsiness, paralysis and even death by burying itself in a person's skin and injecting a neurotoxin.
