Brisbane homes
are provided with two wheelie bins (those large 3 foot tall grey/green bins you

the bin lid

all loose rubbish (eg. dust, bottles, kitchen scraps)
- do
not overload bin (maximum weight is 70 kilograms)

When it comes to recycling, if you're in doubt, then leave it out. Also,
Brisbane Council advises you not to put your recycables in a plastic bag or bin
liner as this stops them from being sorted which means that they'll go to land
fill.
Remember, if you have heaps of rubbish, any bulk quantities can be taken to
your nearest rubbish tip.
If your bins are damaged, or even stolen, you can call the council on (07) 3403 8888 for a free replacement bin. And yes bins do get stolen. They are usually nicked before the Garbologists arrive to empty them indicating that it might be your trash they are after rather than the bin itself.
