a permit. The Animals Local Law 2003 covering the Brisbane City Council area
covers the keeping of dogs, cats, poultry, and horses.

Because many animals
introduced into Queensland and, indeed, Australia such as the rabbit
have become serious pests, damaging Queensland's environment and
economy, the importation and keeping of some animals as pets is prohibited
by law.
Prohibited mammals, reptiles and
amphibians include, but are not limited to dingoes and wild dogs;
feral pigs; ferrets; foxes; gerbils; hamsters; monkeys; rabbits; squirrels; and

And when it comes to keeping native
mammals, reptiles and amphibians, this is controlled by the Environmental Protection

see on roadside curbs) for separating general rubbish from recyclables.
