Rail
An extensive train network operates in South East Queensland. Trains in Brisbane are operated by QR (Queensland Rail). Queensland Rail operate their air-conditioned electric commuter Citytrain services from Roma Street and Central Station to suburban centres and tourist destinations, including the Gold Coast and Airport.

With just a 20 minute journey from the airport to Brisbane's CBD and at just $12 one way, Brisbane's Airtrain is the quickest, most economical, and reliable way to get to the City from the Airport and back again. For just $23 one way, the Airtrain will take you onwards to the Gold Coast. The Airtrain station is located directly at the the Domestic and International Airports, with trains departing every 15 minutes during peak times. Airtrain stops at all downtown stations including Bowen Hills, Brunswick Street, Central, Roma Street, South Brisbane & South Bank. If you're leaving the city to catch a flight and don't want to risk Brisbane's worsening traffic congestion in a taxi, we highly recommend Brisbane's Airtrain as the best option for getting to the airport.
