Big Changes To City Buses May 19, 2008 |
Bus stops for more than 120 bus routes will change from 19 May to coincide with the opening of the new Inner Northern Busway. Three new bus routes will also be introduced.
The change to bus stops means the platform B in the Queen
Street bus station will be reopened and services with similar
destinations will be stopping at the same or adjacent stops.
Some bus routes will also start to use the new busway stations at King George Square and Roma Street.
The
new services being introduced on 19 May include a new busway-only
service to be known as route 66. This will operate every 10 (peak) or
15 (off-peak) minutes on the South East Busway and Inner Northern
Busway between Wolloongabba and QUT Kelvin Grove.
This will link
major destinations in the inner city such as South Bank, the Mater
Hospital, the city centre, Roma Street Station and QUT's campus at
Kelvin Grove on weekdays from 6.30am to 8.00pm.
Two new limited
stops peak hour services from Chermside and Carindale, are being
numbered 332 and 222 and there are going to be more 320 buses on a
trial basis to provide connections for employees at the Airport.
