Bribie Island is accessible by bridge and is one of the more iconic locations to Brisbane's north.
The population is definitely skewed to the over 60's set. We're sure we
read somewhere that Brisbie Island has the oldest demographic in
Australia. It's a contrast of quaint seaside houses and brand new canal
estates resplendent with mansions.
The Pumicestone Passage Marine Park is recognised as one of the most important bird and marine habitats on the East coast of Australia, and is considered to be the smallest estaurine area in the world with a permanent population of Dugong.
Cruises aboard the Bribie Island Ferryman gives you the chance of seeing Dugong, Dolphins, Turtle, Jabiru, Swans, Sea Eagles, Wedge Tail Eagles, Osprey, Kangaroos and Dingoes as well as many of the 360 different bird species.
