Australia Day - JANUARY

Australia Day is celebrated on 26 January. It is a national day of celebration where people all around the country join together to celebrate what's wonderful about Australia and being Australian. Australia Day Flag Raising Ceremony

The Australia Day Flag Raising Ceremony will be hosted by the Queensland Government and held at Celebration Lawn, Roma Street Parkland on Australia Day. The ceremony will include the raising of the Queensland, Australian, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, and an Australian Defence Force military salute and F1-11 flyover.

It is home of the Governor and plays an important role in the public life of Queensland.  On Australia Day the grounds will be opened to the public where you can enjoy a BYO picnic on the lawns, tours of the house and grounds, wander along walking tracks through native vegetation, and enjoy musical entertainment provided by the Australian Army Band and Brisbane and Queensland Police Pipes and Drums.
