Australia Day is celebrated on 26 January. It is a national day of
celebration where people all around the country join together to celebrate
what's wonderful about Australia and being Australian. In Queensland Australia Day will be celebrated with a full program
of events, activities and entertainment that will take place in
Brisbane and across the State.
Queensland 's second ever Australia Day Festival at South Bank will be held on 26 January. The festival will have something for everyone, with the Australia Day Concert, Australia Day Fireworks and a variety of family activities and entertainment.

The Australia Day Flag Raising Ceremony will be
hosted by the Queensland
Government and held at Celebration Lawn, Roma Street Parkland on Australia Day.
The
ceremony will include the raising of the Queensland, Australian,
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags, and an Australian Defence
Force military salute and F1-11 flyover.

Paddington, Government House is one of Queensland's
showcase heritage-listed buildings. It is home of the Governor and plays an important role
in the public life of Queensland.
On Australia Day the grounds will be opened to the public where you can enjoy a BYO picnic on the lawns, tours of the house
and grounds, wander along walking tracks through native vegetation, and enjoy musical entertainment provided by the Australian Army Band and Brisbane
and Queensland Police Pipes and Drums.
