Brisbane hasn't had a great reputation for preserving its heritage
buildings. The drive to modernise the city saw a
large number of historic sites torn down in the 1970's and 1980's.

The Queensland school system has a State curriculum which includes 8 national subject areas plus additional subjects such as (believe it or not) surfing and drama. These subjects are chosen by the school.
